Queensland Multicultural Awards 2011 – Stephen Chomyn recognised for his efforts and dedication.
The presentation of the Multicultural Awards was held in the Grand View Room of Hillstone St Lucia Golf Links, St Lucia on Thursday evening on 10 November 2011.
The Honourable Annastacia Palaszczuk MP Minister for Transport and Multicultural Affairs presented the following awards for:
- Outstanding Volunteer
- Community organisation
- Private enterprise
- Public sector
- Education
- Media.
Outstanding volunteer – This category recognises an individual who through his or her volunteer efforts and dedication has:
- championed the values of multiculturalism
- promoted community harmony and positive community relations.
Outstanding Volunteer category award recipient: Ms Janeth Deen
Stephen Chomyn, one of four finalists in the Outstanding Volunteer category, was the first to be announced as a “Highly Commended” recipient at the Multicultural Awards ceremony that evening.
