On Sunday 24th October 2010, the Ukrainian Community of Queensland Inc. (UCQ) hosted a presentation by medical professionals after Sunday mass at the Ukrainian Catholic Church Hall at 40 Broadway St, Woolloongabba
This presentation was broken down into two sections:
Medicine in Ukraine
The UCQ was proud to have Stepan Duma in Brisbane to give a presentation about his experience as a medical student in a Ukrainian hospital, and to present the documentary about the English Surgeon and his neurosurgery operations and collaboration in Ukraine.
Stepan was raising money to help pay for an MRI machine that has been bought by the English surgeon. At the time $7,000 had been raised.
It’s not a Disgrace…. it’s Dementia.
Dr. Paul Angel presented the 14-minute DVD that was produced by the Multicultural Communities Council of Illawarra, produced to raise awareness about dementia, to reduce and dispel myths about dementia within the Ukrainian speaking communities.
In this DVD, Dr Paul Angel talks about the causes of dementia. Carers and support workers talk about their dementia journey and all stress the importance of seeking help early.
