While the eyes of many have been on Sochi, its neighbour Ukraine has been at the real centre of world news.
The capital, Kiev, has seen ongoing anti-government protests for several months – and during last week’s protests dozens were killed.
Over the weekend the president Viktor Yanukovych was voted out of office.
So how has it been for Brisbane’s Ukrainian expat community watching events from afar?
