POSTPONED: UKRAINIAN FESTIVAL

Dear Members and Friends,

Due to the current South East Queensland lockdown and worsening local COVID-19 outbreak, the Ukrainian Community of Queensland Inc. (UCQ) has made the decision to indefinitely postpone our Ukrainian Festival scheduled for September 11th 2021. A new date will be announced in due course.

We are doing this primarily in the interests of public health. The Delta variant of COVID-19 has caused major surges of cases, hospitalisations and deaths in Australia and overseas and the UCQ Management Committee feels it is no longer in the best interests of the community to go ahead with an event that was expected to draw 800-1000 people in to attend. Ensuring the health and safety of our community and the general public is paramount.

The UCQ would like to thank all the volunteers, performers and vendors who had started preparing for the Ukrainian Festival and hope than when we are able to reschedule, all will be able to be involved again.
