Dear Members and Friends,
Today, I was very honoured to be elected President of the Ukrainian Community of Queensland Inc. by the members of our Association at our Annual General Meeting.
I have taken over the Presidency from Stephan Chomyn OAM, who for the last 19 years has steered our community association from strength to strength. I’d like to thank Stephan for his hard work and dedication to our community over the last 19 years and congratulate him on a job well done.
For those that don’t know me, don’t let my Italian last name fool you! I’ve grown up as a member of the Ukrainian Community of Queensland my whole life and have been a member of the Uprava for the last nine years, the last six of which I have served as Treasurer.
If you’ve ever had a drink at our bar over the years, chances are, I’ve also served you a drink or two!
A President is only as good as the team around him, so I’d like to introduce you to the Uprava for 2018/2019:

Every member of the Uprava brings their own unique strengths to the team and I’m very proud to be serving alongside each and every one of them.
I know the new Uprava and I are already very excited to get to work on some new initiatives to continue the good work we’ve been doing over the last few years. We will keep you updated on these after we’ve had a chance to have our first Uprava meeting.
